"We have enjoyed every minute of our Journey"
On the 10th April 2018 we celebrated 15 years of being part of the Pemberton community. Originally, the Association was establishes as "The Pemberton & Worsley Green Tenants and Residents Association", and was cofounded by friends, Dave Arrowsmith and Mike Dewhurst. Mike was the first Chair, and Dave was the secretary. Kath Hall was the first Treasurer. In 2009, at the AGM, the Association was officially renamed "The Pemberton Community Association". Mike left the Association, and Dave took over as Chair for a while, before Alan Liptrot became the Official Chair. He took the group forward, and helped undertake the renovation of the Pemberton Memorial Garden. Steve Cartwright joined the group as Treasurer. Alan left the Association and Steve became the next Chairperson, taking the group forward again, forging ties with schools, local churches and businesses, with Helen Bennett joining as Secretary and Dave Arrowsmith becoming treasurer. In 2016 Steve sadly left the Association and at the AGM, Helen Bennett(now Arrowsmith) became the first female chairperson and Alison Glover became the secretary, with Dave remaining as Treasurer. Helen has again forged new ties with outside groups, Neighbourhood Policing team, schools, businesses and also establishing the first ever Pemberton Christmas Market event in 2017. We are always looking for more helpers / volunteers. Please contact a member of our management team or email us at [email protected]
